Science = Amazing = Always – Levitation using Cooled Superconductors

Science = Amazing = Always. What do you get when you combined high powered magnets with superconductors that are cooled down using liquid nitrogen? Levitation!

Scientists however, have also developed a room-temperature superconductor, allowing you to easily build your own metamaterial superconductor and easily keep it controlled.

The new age of science! Redefining physics daily!

I can’t wait to see if the studies in anti-matter pay off (ie, at the underground labs in South Dakota). It won’t be long until we find ourselves in space (hopefully).

    Imagine roller coasters like this!

  2. Ben David

lol he has to push the cart every time it passes by meaning this is just
masturbation this really has no application in transportation

  3. Julius Stopforth

    Möbius and magnets

So Mesut Ozil became a scientist?

  5. 2dgametheater

What is the current progress on making one of these superconductors at room
    temperature?

  6. Purushoth Arduino

Watch how maglevs work and you can make your own.

add a bunch more and make a train out of them. That wold be awesome.

  9. Abu Antar

The Social Justice Rejects would damn you for doing this while being male.

    Hoverboard, now.

  11. Joseph Retewna

I have no idea what he’s saying but it looks cool…

magnificent demonstration. very visually stunning. Nice work. As a point
of interest, the mispronunciation of Möbius as MOE-bee-us has achieved
acceptance through common use, however the correct and original
pronunciation, is of course after the name of the discoverer, mathematician
August Ferdinand Möbius, which was and is pronounced as MUR-bee-us (Mur
rhymes with English “HER”). So preferred is Mur-bee-us, not MOE-be-us.

Hi, I goto the university of Science and physics in U.S.A, Florida, for my
assigment I decided to use this for my assignments in motion kinetic
physics, Omam asking can I use dry ice instead of Liquid nitrogen
, where I can get a superconductor DISK shape from and the same type of
    magnets as he used.

Thank you for replying, your reply will change my future

    science is amazing

what about graphine it conducts electricity better than copper

  17. AlchemistxBankai

Reminds me of Mario Kart 8

  18. Alessandro Porcelli

The visual representation of what’s happening in the experiment of the
neodymium magnet in the copper tube is wrong: the induced magnetic field
should be the other way around so that it’s a south pole opposing the
magnet’s, slowing it down. If I’m not mistaken.

  19. Thomas Young

you should use the evaporating liquid nitrogen to propel it round the track
so you don’t have to push it.

  20. FallingFist

    I…
He can’t say “SH” sounds, and it hurts my ears.
    Awesome video though 🙂

  21. Bone Alias

So to get this straight: Outer space is cold enough to cause
    super-conduction correct?

  22. Ethan Turner

Do you know how a thirteen year old could get his hands on some liquid
Nitrogen, I need some for an experiment of mine

  23. Spaz Projects

    Flooting cars anyone?

  24. Swayne Wallace

It looks like Mario kart 8!

  25. Mônica Miranda

I could not hear the temperature in which the ceramic superconductor
superconducts. I’d like to know if there is a metal of the Platinum group
in the composition of the superconductor and which element it is. If
possible give me the formula of the superconductor.
As I watch the patents filed for superconductors, I can see the
temperatures are getting higher, but still too low to make them comercially
useful. When do you think we will have superconductors that superconducts
in room temperature? There was a an American farmer from Phoenix, Arizona
that claimed he had found such a superconductor in his farm. His name was
David Hudson and he passed away in 2003.

  26. Daymein Vines

    My god I want one.

  27. Daymein Vines

The idea of having a superconductor that reaches it’s critical temperature
at room temperature or higher, could be revolutionary.

    O futuro está aí, gente!!!!

  29. Hamany al-loghani

What are the ingredients or stuff should i bring to do this project for my
    science fair?

  30. Barnacules Nerdgasm

    Magic is real… o.O

  31. Aymeric Nephilim

    beautiful

  32. jo l

Would it be practical to make a train like this? Is this the same as
    the Maglev?

  33. Maxwell Gao

What kind of sorcery is this?

  34. heba hossam

I think if we try to find something like a container or something to hold
the superconductor or maybe cover it totally that will keep the liquid
nitrogen or whatever cooling gas in the liquid state and and never lose
it’s extremely low temperature that woukd be awesome cause we will need
small amounts of the liquified gas so it won’t cost so much and we still
can keep the superconductivity of the metal

  35. kleinjahr

Interesting. I wonder what would happen if you used two superconductors
    separated by the Moibius strip.

  36. Cameron Lewiz

Maybe nikola tesla’s inventions were taken because they would allow us to
have very high electrical outputs to power things such as super powerful
    super coolers and conductors

  37. Dalton McCabe

dang andy your lisp is almost gone – everyone from highschool.

“Witchcraft… Burn Him” says the Liberals

  39. fabts4

You should give it a little propeller and leave it move by itself 🙂

  40. jacob Leard

put a superconductor on a track in a vacuum so no air friction push it and
see how long it will go for!

  41. rallekralle11

    interesting

  42. TheViIIager

This could be used for car races something like racing cars in a track that
will levitate xD it will be like one for the old Ninento 64 games with Cap
Falcon type of design (cap falcon race game) 😀

  43. TheKastorian

    Wipeout will be become reality!

  44. Ethan Turner

Does anyone on this channel know what substance can withstand an alkali
    metal reaction to water?

  45. Milos Ljubicic

Would it work if it the superconductor was a sphere ?

  46. Ry Erickson

He has a ch speech impediment.

  47. TheCanni6al

so what happens if you try this in zero g?
