Updates to this Blog

Just figured I’d list some changes around here…also gives me something else to post about vs responding to comments all day!

  1. The comment system is fixed. Some comments were not displaying, or pulling properly (if they are being shared from sister sites). Most comments still require admin approval to at least somewhat sensor some of the content that people tend to post at times.
  2. The login system was experiencing some problems when logging in via external services like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc. This only affected a few but it should all be wrapped up and yesterday’s news.
  3. Some various speed improvements have been made.
  4. Youtube oEmbed enhancements have come with the new framework, so the old Youtube script on the backend has been retired. There will be no more requirements of using “httpv” or “httpvhd” in links and links can now be posted directly.
  5. None of this has cured me of my sinus infection, but it at least helped prevent me from going mad staring at a wall. It’s amazing how much coding time you can come across while sick.
  6. As a reminder, avatars are (by default) using gravatar to assign your avatars. If you don’t want to mess with gravatar or don’t even know what it is and prefer to keep it that way, you can visit your profile link at the top right where you can upload an image directly to the blog vs using the outside service.

That is all!

Share This Cow For No Reason

A stunt/promo launched to FB by the LV Mobsquad. The purpose is to spread word of the video since any proceeds earned from it on youtube, itunes, etc help go to a young girl’s future college fund. So far the video has over 450k views, and they are hoping for millions. Fingers crossed!

Ultimate GIF/Vine Compilation 2014 (with sound) [NSFW]

Someone put together a fun compilation of gifs/vines (with audio). For me, there are FAR too many “vines” in the world to enjoy them too much…you will be there all day watching them, and life is way too short for that.

Even so, I found this amusing to watch.

Broken From the Shackles of Xbox Live?

no-more-xbox-live

I don’t know how, but over the last month or so, I just haven’t been playing any Xbox. Even with the excitement of Destiny right around the corner, I have no interest in going up there and turning it on (still bat***t crazy about it coming out in general though). I have a pile of games I haven’t even opened yet. Halo? COD? None of it lights that gamer flame to lure me in. Could it be that I somehow calmy removed the gaming shackles to enjoy a little more of reality? Was the flame blown out? Is it just a phase? Only time will tell.

I think it’s a good thing that I haven’t hid behind the Xbox with all of my free time though this summer.

During the same time, I have focused more on a pilgrimage about getting outside and doing dangerous things (hiking, rappelling, now ascending and other crazy fun acts) as if I need to get something out of my system. As well as working on investments and expanding my portfolio(*s). My book for example sold it’s first copy within an hour of newly being online in the Kindle store (right on!).

With having little to zero work in my main field for two months (and knowing that until next week, it will continue this way), I have had to do everything possible to keep my mind busy.  Earlier in the year, so many indefinably wonderful things were happening all at once, that a pedestal grew rapidly with pride and encouragement (a positive one). To mention a few, I experienced gains, unlimited work and blindly developed interests that I have never felt my life. Then, almost all at once, life threw every possible curveball to not just push me around, but completely knock that pedestal down sending me flying towards the ground in a massive face plant. Everything I built up this year with positive anticipation, was gone.

A test from God? Maybe. Why? Don’t know. What I do know, is

Ok, so Nabisco has been on a crazy kick this year releasing custom flavored Oreo cookies and here they go again. This time with a cookie dough creme on the inside.

This review will be short and to the point. In fact, here is the conclusion: YUM! You need to snag some of these! Done!

Now I have to figure out how I left the house to get some fruit for healthy eatin…and instead left with this…..
