Updates to this Blog

Just figured I’d list some changes around here…also gives me something else to post about vs responding to comments all day!

  1. The comment system is fixed. Some comments were not displaying, or pulling properly (if they are being shared from sister sites). Most comments still require admin approval to at least somewhat sensor some of the content that people tend to post at times.
  2. The login system was experiencing some problems when logging in via external services like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc. This only affected a few but it should all be wrapped up and yesterday’s news.
  3. Some various speed improvements have been made.
  4. Youtube oEmbed enhancements have come with the new framework, so the old Youtube script on the backend has been retired. There will be no more requirements of using “httpv” or “httpvhd” in links and links can now be posted directly.
  5. None of this has cured me of my sinus infection, but it at least helped prevent me from going mad staring at a wall. It’s amazing how much coding time you can come across while sick.
  6. As a reminder, avatars are (by default) using gravatar to assign your avatars. If you don’t want to mess with gravatar or don’t even know what it is and prefer to keep it that way, you can visit your profile link at the top right where you can upload an image directly to the blog vs using the outside service.

That is all!
