If you played silent hill 3 and then watch this you will appreciate to see
some stuff true to the game like jacks inn, or the red shoe, and yea thats
pretty much it, this movie was fucking horrible

representation of James Sunderlands Hatred and violent nature. The monsters
represent the main victims of silent hill in their own way so why does our
friend with geometry for a face decide to fill his pockets with the money

Quick Spoiler FREE summation of both films:
SILENT HILL: largely based on the first Silent Hill video game, released in
1999. Some really dark changes compared to the game, namely the cult is
entirely different and some of the scenes are quite memorable.
The unnecessary character is the Pyramid Head. Anyone who has ever played
and finished Silent Hill 2 video game knows what I mean. His original
inception is carved in stone and is there for the fans to keep it alive. In
the movie he’s just there to make sure people die messy deaths. We never
learn what he is, where he comes from or why he’s doing any of this.
Silent Hill is another example of why Hollywood shouldn’t green-light a
movie based on a popular franchise and shove it out the door as quickly as
they can to make a buck while the trend is still high.
SILENT HILL REVELATION: a sequel to Silent Hill the movie; an adaptation of
Silent Hill 3, the sequel to the first game.
This is from IMDb and offers a good insight into this mess: ” the director
Michael J. Bassett didn’t like the first film, so he decided to do
something that he felt was truer to the game, as well as making numerous
changes that fit neither the first movie nor the game series. However,
doing such thing resulted in many drastic retcons.”
Everything is so stupidly changed that all of the events in the first movie
are completely meaningless. This and many other things serve as a good
explanation why the film is considered as such a major failure.
Oh, and the Pyramid Head also should not have had a place in this film.
If someone did it before you and did it at least decently enough not to
consider it a complete crap, it’s better to follow it in that matter, doing
something to resolve the cliffhanger at the end of first film and NOT
turning everything around so much, even though it’s truer to the video
games, because it’s still confuses the shit out of everyone who isn’t
familiar with the games.
I hope Michael J. Basset stays away from the franchise forever.

Alright just saw this movie today for the second time. Needless to say I’m
a HUGE Silent Hill fan. Well, what to say, to me the first movie was
better. However, unlike what most people here are saying, I didn’t dislike
this movie too much. It had a lot of bad and unnecessary things but hey, it
was a good representation of Silent Hill. I’ve seen a lot worse when speak
about movies from videogames. Anyhow, the things I hated the most was the
ending. Sharon/Heater left his father… just like that?! Your parents,
those who adopted you even if they knew you were “special”, are stuck in
that Hell that is Silent Hill, they saved you COUNTLESS times and you…
walk away just like that? I know, I know your dad said to you to come back
home and escape that Hell but… when was the last time you listened to
your father, Heather??? They are your friggin parents! And they’re stuck in
Silent Hill! Your kick-ass mother stole half of the Seal of Metatron from
Leonard to get you out, your kick-ass father gave up on his rich life,
killed a member of the order and loved you as his real daughter and you…
